Useful software. Less setup between you and it.
Finding a useful app should lead to using it. PicoRunner brings discovery, installation, launching and updates into a Mac app, with everyday controls for software that runs locally.
A place to manage the app, so you can focus on using it.

The setup becomes its own project
A web app can solve a useful problem and still be difficult to run on your own computer. Installation instructions, runtime requirements and terminal commands can become the first task, before the actual task has even begun.
PicoRunner brings supported local web apps into a familiar Mac experience. A reviewed catalogue helps people discover apps, while an installed-app library gives them a place to start, stop and open what they already have.
Keep the ordinary actions ordinary
From the library, a person can launch an app and open its local address without reading the terminal output. Details such as storage and launch settings stay available when needed. Existing local projects can also be added without moving their files into PicoRunner's ownership.
Maintenance belongs in the same experience. An Updates view checks installed apps and identifies which managed GitHub apps can be updated. For supported managed updates, PicoRunner prepares the new version before stopping the app, preserves designated data folders and keeps a rollback copy until the restart succeeds.
More attention for the app itself
Discovery, launching and maintenance become parts of one experience. The person has a visible place to manage their apps, rather than a collection of commands to remember between sessions.
The scope remains specific: PicoRunner runs on supported Macs and works with supported app types. Some apps still require their own accounts, credentials or services. The catalogue and app details help make those requirements visible.
